Built from the Ground Up — Literally

Eric Ward didn’t set out to reinvent how humans stand, move, and balance. He just couldn’t ignore what he was seeing — and what wasn’t working. Long before Limitless Feet, Eric built homes, museums, and stadiums. As a carpenter, he learned that every structure fails from the foundation first. You don’t fix a leaning wall by bracing the top — you fix what’s underneath. Years later, that same logic would change how people think about feet forever.

A Life In Motion

After a decade in construction, Eric turned his passion for precision toward skiing — following in his father’s footsteps as an instructor and coach.
He studied biomechanics, anatomy, and alignment, earning over 50 college credits on snow. Through his work with injury-prevention programs, he helped athletes move better and stay on the mountain longer. But there was a problem no one could solve. Every orthotic, insole, or “alignment” system relied on the same static assumptions: test both feet at once, guess at the angles, and prop up the arch.
The results looked scientific — but they didn’t actually work.

The Moment Everything Changed

While coaching alpine ski racers, Eric realized something simple but revolutionary: skiing — like walking, running, and life itself — is a one-foot-at-a-time sport. The body doesn’t balance symmetrically. It adapts, dynamically, with every step.

So why was everyone testing both feet together? That question sparked decades of research and experimentation.
Eric began designing new ways to measure how each foot collapses (pronates) in motion — and discovered that no one in the world had ever measured pronation in degrees. Not accurately. Not dynamically. Not one foot at a time.

The Birth of Foot Foundations

What started as an experiment in an Aspen ski locker became a revolution in movement science. Eric built the first-ever dynamic measuring system to quantify pronation and supination down to the half degree. That data led to Foot Foundations — fully custom, 3D-printed supports designed not to prop up the arch, but to rebuild the foot’s tripod and realign the body from the ground up.

Within months, ski pros and everyday people alike were reporting dramatic changes: less pain, better posture, more power, more joy. Word spread fast.

That’s when Limitless Feet was born — a family-run shop where innovation meets human connection.

25 Years of Building Balance

Today, Limitless Feet continues to grow in Aspen, Colorado — refining the process, integrating 3D printing, and developing the world’s first pressure-sensitive pronation measuring device.

Eric and his family still run the business with the same curiosity and craftsmanship that started it all. They believe the future of movement isn’t about support, it’s about understanding.

The Art and Science of Balance

Watch the story behind Foot Foundations — the decades of questions, failures, and breakthroughs that changed how we move, forever.

I built homes, I built athletes, and now I build balance. The truth is simple: every human deserves a solid foundation.
